Our Practice
Ascent Psychological Services is a neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming practice located in Cincinnati, Ohio. We offer assessment and therapy services throughout Ohio, California, and all PsyPact participating states. We offer a variety of therapy modalities and assessment for children, adults, parents, couples, and families. We believe that differences in neurotypes are a natural variation in human cognitive function and we are committed to fostering a safe space for our clients through an affirming and trauma-informed approach.
Assessments
We offer psychological testing for neurodevelopmental disabilities such as Autism and ADHD, as well as comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, which can identify differences in cognitive function such as learning disabilities. Whether you are looking to confirm a self-diagnosis, learn how to navigate specific challenges are you facing, hoping to lay the foundation for successful treatment, or want guidance to help your child, our providers can conduct strengths-based assessments to meet your specific needs.
Therapy
We strive to meet our clients where they are and do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. We offer a variety of therapy modalities, including individual, family, play, group, and dyadic therapy, as well as parent coaching. Traditional cognitive behavioral therapy is often not effective in the neurodivergent population, leading some folks to feel that therapy does not work for them. These clients often find that a neurodiversity affirming approach helps them to achieve their therapy goals.
Consulting
Dr. Lauren Elder, PhD, ABPP, is a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience as a psychologist, consultant, and public speaker. She provides consulting services to corporations, non-profits, and clinics regarding neurodiversity, affirming care and management, Autism, ADHD, mental health, neurodevelopmental and developmental disabilities, and early intervention.
